Etude House Personal Color Palette Warm Tone Eyes Review + Swatches

5:10 PM

Hi everyone ~

I hope everyone's 2017 has been off to a good start. There has already been so many promising KBeauty releases and I cannot wait to try new products this year ^^.

I recently picked up the new Etude House Personal Color Palette from etudehouse.com during their last free shipping New Year sale. They came out with various palettes including 2 eye shadow palettes, contour/highlight palettes and even some lip ones!

I'm a sucker for warm tone shadows so naturally I couldn't resist their Warm Eyes palette ;). I hope my review is helpful for those of you who have been eyeing the palette and want a closer look at it.

PRICING:

Etudehouse.com
Price: $26 (bought during promotional period)

PACKAGING:

The palette itself is housed in a sturdy plastic off-white case. Doesn't feel cheap at all and has a nice weight to it. It has a gorgeous "hand drawn" graphic on the cover. There is also a large mirror on the inside which is a plus in my book!

It has 20 warm toned eye shadows (.03 z / 1g per pan) which are fairly small but I don't mind since it takes me forever to finish shadows and the price point is reasonable too.

TEXTURE:

The textures within this palette vary depending on the finish. Matte shadows are buttery smooth and not chalky at all which is an issue I have run into for some Etude House palettes in the past. Glittery shades have A LOT of fall out but are beautiful none the less. I don't gravitate much towards the ultra glittery shades. Metallic and Shimmer shades are beautiful and blend like a dream.

This is HANDS DOWN my favorite Etude House palette and I have tried quite a few palettes from them over the years!!

PIGMENTATION:

Pigmentation also varies depending on the finish. For example, the top row consists of mostly glittery shades and so you don't get much pay off unless you apply with a heavy hand and apply several layers. The matte shadows are fairly pigmented but do require multiple layers if you want a stronger color. The metallic and shimmery shades are the most pigmented in my opinion.

My personal preference is to build up my shadows so since they aren't as pigmented as Western brands, this palette is PERFECT for me!

SWATCHES & SHADES:

I marked my favorite shades with a *

W1 Honey Milk // W2 Brown Sugar // W3 Twinkle Orange //W4 Tanning Gold //W5 Brown Berry

W6 Spangle // W7 Cappuccino * // W8 Dull Expresso * // W9 Warm Wood * // W10 Brown Candy

W11 Toasted Pecan * // W12 Glam Rose // W13 Cream Team * // W14 Cocoa * // W15 Morning Coffee*

W16 Pine Cone * // W17 Glam Rose // W18 Baked Gold * // W19 Night Brown * // W20 Dark Night

Overall, I LOVE THIS PALETTE!! I was pleasantly surprised as the most recent Etude House palettes haven't been very impressive formulation wise and shade wise (in my opinion). It is a perfect everyday palette with a wonderful variety of textures and colors. You can create a simple everyday look or even a more dramatic smokey eye. If you prefer more pigmented shadows, you can definitely get that from these with a primer or a cream base!

I also featured this palette in one my YouTube videos so if you want to this palette in action, definitely check it out!

INGREDIENTS:

Talc,Mica (Ci 77019),Calcium Titanium Borosilicate,Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891),Glass,Synthetic Fluorphlogopite,Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride,Zinc Stearate,Triethylhexanoin,Diisostearyl Malate,Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate,Silica,Magnesium Myristate,Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone,Polyhydroxystearic Acid,Triethoxycaprylylsilane,Tin Oxide,Methicone,Isopropyl Palmitate,Ethylhexyl Palmitate,Isostearic Acid,Lecithin,Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate,Caprylyl Glycol,Ethylhexylglycerin,1,2-Hexanediol,Red 7,Ci 15985,Ci 19140,Ci 77491,Ci 77492,Ci 77499

Tony Moly x Pokemon Pikachu Mini Cushion Blusher #2 Rose Coral Review

3:49 PM

Hi everyone!

I recently caved in and picked up one of the Tony Moly Pokemon Mini Cushion Blushers from their collaboration collection! They also came out with a cushion compact, lip tints, nail polishes and even eye shadow palettes. I highly recommend you guys checking it out because everything is SO CUTE!!

I thought it would be fun to share some of my thoughts on the blusher as it is fairly new and sometimes you can't help but question, "Is it really that good or is the packaging and product a gimmick?!". Hopefully my post helps you guys out!

There are 3 mini cushion blusher shades available but the one I chose is #2 Rose Coral which is a beautiful shade which will give you some subtle pikachu tinted cheeks :). I got this from the ebay seller f2plus1 for $10.

All 3 available shades comes with a different pikachu facial expression and it was pretty hard to choice between them. On to the review ~

Packaging:

Like other cushions, the mini blusher comes in a small palm size plastic compact with a mirror and adorable pokeball ruby cell to go with it!

It does come sealed as pictured below and you can save it to cover the cushion if you'd like. The cartridge does pop out so in the event that you want to buy a refill - that is totally possible!

Claims:

It is a cushion type giving inside-filling shiny and resilient gloss and moist non-dying effect. Long lasting color with light oil-less and sticky-less adherence.

Texture:

This cushion blusher has a light gel/gloss type of consistency until it is completely dried. It does take a bit to completely set due to the initial texture but once it does, it leaves a nice dewy stain on your cheeks.

It almost feels like a non-sticky lip gloss texture wise but it's quite nice once applied! It feels very light weight and quite comfortable to wear.

Scent:

It has a light sweet candy-like scent. It isn't over powering in my opinion.

Pigmentation:

Although in the cushion pan, the color looks like a bright coral red, once applied it takes on a more subtle reddish rosy pink.

It is decently pigmented so don't let the lack of color on the sponge fool you! When you use the mini ruby cell to apply it, it takes on a darker rose shade which is GORGEOUS!

Lasting Power:

I honestly wasn't expecting too much in terms of lasting power and my hunch was correct. On me personally, it only lasts 3-4 hours which is pretty disappointing. Like I mentioned earlier, once the product completely dries, it leaves a beautiful stain but it fades fairly quickly.

Perhaps if I set the liquid cushion blusher with a powder blush would most likely help it last longer but I have yet to confirm that theory :).

Overall, I think this a great blush; especially for you Pokemon & KBeauty lovers out there! Not only is it cute it is also functional item. I wouldn't say it is the most amazing blush I have ever used but I know I will get great use out of it when I was a brighter rosy shade.

This type of shade is totally out of my comfort zone but it would be perfect on those minimal makeup days to accompany eyeliner, mascara and a neutral lipstick. I also absolutely love the finish and texture.

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts and seeing some close up pictures of this blush. Thanks so much for reading ~

Etude House Dear My Sweet Box #1 (Blooming Lips-talk PK027 & BE108)

11:41 PM

Hey everyone ~

How is everyone doing?! During the last Etude House Pink Day sale, I decided to pick up the Dear My Sweet Box #1 which contains the newest edition to the Etude House lipstick line; Blooming Lips-talk.

The box also included a pair of Etude House x Optical W sunglasses which may or may not have been one of the reasons why I caved in and got the box... :)

Etude House also offers a box #2 which contains more pinker shades but I always tend to gravitate towards the more peach-y colors so I went with box #1 which was on sale for $20 USD.

That is definitely a steal since these lipsticks usually go for $8-$11 and the sunglasses are a well known sunglasses/glasses brand from South Korea. Not bad, not bad!

Inside the Dream Box, the 2 lipsticks sit beneath the cavity that holds the sunglasses (also comes with a nice soft fabric carrying case).

Product Description:

The lipstick makes the lips look attractive with vivid color and sensuous texture.

The Dear My Blooming Lips-talk lipsticks come in 2 different formulations: Chiffon and Matte. Both promise to deliver vivid color and non-drying textures that should glide on smoothly. Sounds great right?

Let's get down into the details of the products inside the Dream Box:

PK027 is a warm bright pink that glides on very smoothly onto the lips. It is a bit drying despite the creamy finish but lasts a decent amount of time leaving a nice "just bitten/ ate a Popsicle recently" type of look. Super flattering on my light-medium, yellow undertone skin tone.

BE108 looks like a really pretty peach nude color but on my dark pigmented lips, it looks almost like concealer. This particular shade also dragged across my lips and was much too pale in color for me :/. I had high hopes for this shade but it just didn't work out.

Onto the Etude x Optical W sunglasses! I saw Lily Maymac wearing these on Instagram but was intrigued! The quality is actually decent as well.

The material is made from a light rubberized plastic and fits perfect on my fairly flat face. It doesn't droop down my nose and stays put without leaving any markings on my nose which is fabulous!

I definitely want to try the Lily Maymac shade which is a gorgeous warm brown nude which are my weakness!!! She also rocks it like a boss and just makes everything look good...

Overall, I think these are decent lipsticks but you have to be careful with some of the shades because the formulation differs. If you are medium skin toned like me, you may also want to stay clear of the lighter peachier shades because they aren't particularly flattering for multiple reasons!

Thanks so much for reading & I hope everyone has a great week :).

Etude House Berry Delicious Collection & Tutorial

7:10 PM

Hi everyone ♥!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! I know I've been MIA again for awhile but I was in a blogging mood lately and here I am with a brand new post on the Etude House Berry Delicious Collection! The whole line has a super cute strawberry fruity theme. Very Spring appropriate.

I picked up 3 items from the collection as I definitely do not need anymore makeup :3...

❥ Berry Delicious Fantastic Color Eyes - Strawberry Fondue | http://ebay.to/1pP0pH2
❥ Berry Delicious Fresh Cream Bluser - #3 Grapefruit Strawberry | http://ebay.to/1RClNVH
❥ Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips - RD302 | http://ebay.to/1RsgJ7m

The Berry Delicious Fresh Cream Blusher comes in three shades. I got the third shade which is the pinky-orange shade. There is also a brighter pink and reddish shade available which are also very pretty!

#3 Grapefruit Pink:

Has a very interesting texture. It's cream but can be difficult to pick up any product
Comes with a more rubbery cushion sponge type of applicator to help pick up product easier

I still prefer to use a brush as it is easier to control where I want to apply the product

Smells DIVINE! Almost like Asian fruit candies
Color compliments my yellowy light/medium skin very nicely

Even though it is not the most pigmented blush, I actually really like it! I don't have to worry about going overboard even when I have to repeatedly stab my brush into the pan...!

Also, just look at that packaging! I wish there was a mirror at the top and the packaging feels a bit cheap and plastic-y but it's still adorable none the less.

Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips comes in 9 shades and I picked out the dark berry pink shade as it just really stood out to me. They also have some fun shades like a mint green and a variety of pinks.

RD302:

Jelly texture
Creates gradients easily
Smells like strawberry candies
Poor lasting power but stains lips well
Shiny finish but not overly glossy

This formulation really reminds me of the Etude House Color Pop tints that came out a few years ago which I absolutely loved! I have pretty much skipped all their recent lip product releases until now so I can't really compare any of the formulas.

Swatch of the Color in Liquid Lips in RD306 Berry Plum Squeeze & the Cream Blusher in #3 Grapefruit Jelly

Lastly we have Etude House's latest addition to their limited edition 6 pan palettes. They came out with 2 different palettes but I was attracted to the sweet pink shades which is rare of me since I'm not even a fan of the color pink.

Fantastic Color Eyes - Strawberry Fondue Palette has 6 beautiful shades but unfortunately powdery in texture. I feel like their single shadows tend to be better formulated but the shadows are quite smooth and easily blended.

Shadows work well together
Good mix of glitter/shimmer and matte shades
Easy to travel with
Good mirror
Decent pigmentation

I also did a review and tutorial on my Youtube channel if you guys are interested (no pressure ^^).

This collection is overall adorable! Etude House has nailed the adorable packaging and it gets me every time!

Let me know if you guys have anything that really caught your eye in this collection.

Thanks so much for reading ♥

Peripera Peri's Ink #3 - No Way Review & Swatches

4:08 PM

Hello everyone! Long time no post right?! As you can probably tell from the re-branding of my blog, I decided to stream line a majority of my social media usernames so I am now ahmeenda.blogspot.com. My riceysupreme posts are still around but going forward, I'll be continuing from the new username ^^.

Anyways, today's post is going to be a review on the Peripera Peri's Ink Lip Tint that I've had for awhile and figured it was a decent comeback post. Hope you find my review and swatches helpful!

Let's get right into the review!

Price: $6-8 USD / I got mine from ebay seller: beautynetkorea
Contains: 8grams
Applicator: Soft flexible sponge applicator
Packaging: Hard plastic 'dropper' bottle (super cute but the dropper like appearance is just for looks)

Main Claims: Long wearing Tattoo- like stain / Light Weight / Vivid color

There are 5 colors available and all of them are indeed vivid and beautiful! I choose #3 No Way because oranges tend to look better on me.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation for this is no joke. It is super opaque but it is also buildable. You can sheer it out for a light tint and create a gradient or you can apply it full force. It can get a bit patchy if you don't work quickly because it dries fast!

Finish: It claims to have a shiny finish and it definitely does! It isn't matte

Longevity: It will EASILY last all day if I exfoliate my lips prior. I would say it lasts 4 - 6 hours before fading. I do find if my lips are dry, the color does come off because my lips are all dry and gross ><.

This stuff is also fairly transfer proof/ kiss proof! The downside is when this stuff dries... it dries. It is SO DIFFICULT to remove this stuff OMG. I usually use coconut oil to remove my makeup but it is a struggle even with oil. They do sell a remover with this line but I haven't tried it.

Ignore my vein y hands XD

Consistency: It's a light liquid formulation that is very comfortable on the lips. It is a bit tacky even after it dries though.

Moisturizing?: It doesn't have any claims of having moisturizing properties and I do find it isn't super drying. It also isn't the most moisturizing tint out there.

PROS: Long lasting / pigmented / buildable / comfortable to wear / fairly transfer proof

CONS: Hard to remove / a bit drying / application can get a little patchy

Overall it is a great tint and if you're like me and are constantly snacking and drinking beverages, this is definitely an interesting product to try out because of the formulation. It does have it's downsides and is INCREDIBLY hard to remove (the tattoo claim is definitely true!!!) but if you're willing to go through the trouble, I'd say give it a go!

1 full layer on ^__^

If any of you guys have tried this before, let me know what you think of it! I'd love to know how it worked on other people. What are your favorite lip tints?

Thanks so much for reading my post!

Rimmel 60 Seconds Polish 120 Hot Chili Pepper

9:01 PM

Hey there everyone! I have pretty much obssessed with this particular nail polish/color ever since I got it last month. It is a Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in the color 120 Hot Chili Pepper. I got it for $1.50! YUP! Under $2 bucks you guys.

It is such a pretty reddish orange color. Really fun for the spring and summer season. I was automatically attracted to this color when I saw it as I was browsing the aisles of Walmart. Not to mention the name is adorable because I LOVE CHILI PEPPERS being the typical South East Asian that I am.

The formula is fabulous! I wouldn't say it dries in 60 seconds but it does dry faster than my other nail polishes. I've had another color from their older 60 seconds line and loved it. I was really excited to see them bring it back with super pretty colors! It lasts a REALLY long time when I use a top coat and I don't get that from many of my polishes. I also love how it dries into a shiny finish. It is just gorgeous and I am super obsessed with it. I have to really hold back from buying ALL the colors they have available in this line haha! Although it really wouldn't affect my wallet that much I probably should be logical with my purchases especially since I am California bound in 9 days!! Hope you guys enjoyed my quick post and mini review of this awesome nail polish! Bye for now ~
